A 30-mile pursuit Sunday in rural Jackson and Nemaha Counties, ends in the arrest of a 43-year-old Circleville man.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says the apprehension of Randall S. Rodvelt followed a domestic disturbance reported around 1:20 Sunday afternoon in Circleville, where Rodvelt allegedly battered a deputy.
Reportedly fleeing the scene in a 2000 Toyota Corolla, Rodvelt allegedly wrecked into a Jackson County Sheriff's Patrol vehicle, then took off again.
The pursuit continued for approximately 30 miles in northern rural Jackson County and southern Nemaha County, ending approximately 8 miles north of Wetmore, when Rodvelt surrendered to authorities, and was arrested without incident at the scene.
Rodvelt was booked into Jackson County Jail on charges including battery on a law enforcement officer; criminal damage to property; driving under the influence; obstruction; fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer while engaging in reckless driving; and reckless driving.
Bond is pending.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Nemaha County Sheriff's Office, the Brown County Sheriff's Office, the Sac and Fox Tribal Police Department, and Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
