(KNZA)--The Board of Education for the Atchison County Schools of USD 337 is proposing a small mill rate increase to fund the district- 2025-26 budget.
The Board approved the proposed budget for publication at their August 13 meeting.
It contains an estimated tax rate of 43.858 mills, which is an increase of .108 mill from last year- rate.
The proposed mill rate is slightly above the district- revenue neutral rate.
The proposed budget calls for the district to collect more than $3.7 million in property tax revenue.
The USD 377 Board of Education will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their September 10th meeting. A second public hearing will also be held at the meeting on the district's intent to exceed the revenue neutral rate.
