Hasenohr was one of two candidates interviewed for the position of Police Chief after a third candidate withdrew.
The position became open when current Chief Dick Luzier, who ends his time in the seat Wednesday, resigned abruptly late last year.
Making his decision to step down public the day after Christmas, Luzier has never stated publicly why he chose to do so.
Hasenohr officially begins as Chief of Police on Thursday.
