The State of Nebraska will receive 10-point-6-million-dollars in disaster funds to assist farmers working to rebuild from the historic summer flooding.
Missouri and Utah are named as two of the hardest hit states, affected by flooding, with the two to share more than one-third of the overall total, as they received a combined total of 109-million-dollars.
Missouri incurred months of flooding after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released unprecedented amounts of water from northern areas.
Nearly 100-thousand acres of Nebraska farmland was affected by the flooding, with monies earmarked to help remove debris left behind when the water went down.
Kansas, including nearby Doniphan and Atchison Counties, also felt flood affects, with the state receiving 2-point-2 million-dollars of the newly announced funding support.
