Our entire Kansas broadcast region is below the national average for average weekly wages and all but one are below the state average.
This comes from a recent report from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The statistics reflected are taken in June of each year.
The state average for Kansas in wages is 754 dollars a week, while the national average is 891 dollars a week. This is up from 2010 when it was 732 and 865 dollars respectively.
Only Leavenworth County is above the state average at 840 dollars a week, up from 795 dollars in 2010.
Atchison County is at 628 dollars a week, up from 606 dollars in 2010.
Brown County’s wages average 577 dollars a week, up from 575 in 2010.
Jefferson County’s is 553 dollars, down from 646 dollars a week in 2010
Donaphan County’s is 620 dollars, up from 609 dollars a week in 2010.
Jackson County’s weekly wage average is 570 dollars, up from 545 dollars in 2010.
Nemaha County’s weekly wage is 581 dollars, up from 557 in 2010.
Coffey County has the state’s highest weekly wage at 11 hundred 98 dollars.
Comparing other surrounding states, Nebraska’s 2011 rate is 714 dollars a week while Missouri’s is 774 dollars.
