According to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, Grace was arrested Wednesday afternoon when officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence in the 1000 block of North 10th Street. When they arrived, police allege that Grace was in the process of stealing a television from the residence; and, after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody.
The investigation, according to Wilson, indicates that Grace and the 59-year-old resident were acquainted, with Grace previously having been banned from the property where he allegedly forced entry into the residence through a door Wednesday afternoon. The resident of the home was not hurt.
Following his arrest, Grace was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
