(KAIR)--An Atchison man is accused of threatening police officers who attempted to arrest him on unrelated court warrants.
44-year-old Jason Seager is facing charges for aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement, and District Court warrants for failure to appear.

According to a release from Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson, officers, shortly after 10:00 Sunday night, “responded to the area of River Road and Commercial Street to check on a suspicious person.” When they arrived, officers located Seager, who was wanted on the court warrants. Instead of cooperating, the release says that Seager “threatened officers with a big stick and then fled on foot,” before being apprehended near 4th and Commercial Street.
It’s alleged he was in possession of the drugs at the time he was arrested.
Once in custody, Seager was booked into the Atchison County Jail.
