(KNZA)--Two teenagers charged in the stabbing death of another teen at a St. Joseph park remain held without bond following court appearances Tuesday.
18-year-old Sebastian Dowell and a 17-year-old female, whose name isn’t being released because of her age, are both charged with second-degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Kaytlin Root.
Root’s body was found by a jogger at Krug Park on October 16th. Authorities say the two suspects lured Root to take a ride that ended up at the park where she was stabbed multiple times.
The St. Joseph News Press reports a preliminary hearing for Dowell was set for November 21st.
The 17-year-old female defendant appeared in juvenile court, and a status hearing was set for November 14th.
