(KAIR)--A Muscotah woman, accused of abusing her three month old son, avoids serving time in prison.
That decision came Friday in Atchison County District Court during the sentencing of Heidi Pace.
Last month, Pace pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated child endangerment and aggravated battery.
The Judge Friday sentenced her to 6 months behind bars for the endangerment charge and 8 months for the battery charge. However, he suspended that sentence, and instead placed Pace on 18-months of supervised probation.
Pace was arrested in April after a social worker at Children's Mercy Hospital told law enforcement that a child was being treated for injuries believed to have been caused by abuse.
