Accused Killer Has Case Continued

(KAIR)--A continuance in the case for the man accused of the September shooting death of an Atchison man in the parking lot of an Atchison convenience store. 

19-year-old Terrell Dixon appeared in Atchison County District Court Monday afternoon for a status hearing, where his attorney, Kevin Reardon requested more time to prepare for the case. The judge agreed, and a new status hearing date was set for December 7th.

Dixon was arrested in Henry County, Missouri about eighteen hours after he allegedly used a handgun to kill 24-year-old Winston Downing on the evening of September 9th. He was taken into custody in the Missouri location on an Atchison County warrant charging him with second degree murder. 

Due to security concerns, Dixon is being held at an undisclosed location on a $500,000 bond.
