(KAIR)--Governor Sam Brownback has appointed Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Herrig to the Kansas Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training.
According to a release issued last week by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Herrig was appointed to the Commission on July 1st to serve a four year term, set to expire in July of 2018. The term became open after Ford County Sheriff Dean Bush resigned from the commission.
Herrig was appointed President of the Kansas Sheriff's Association in January.
The Kansas Commission on Peace Officer's Standards and Training is committed to providing Kansas residents with qualified, trained, ethical, and professional peace officers. It also enforces and adopts professional standards for certification of peace officers.
