(KNZA)--An August 13th preliminary hearing has been set for an Atchison man facing four felony charges in Jackson County.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says that came during a status hearing Thursday in the case against 24-year-old Ryan Marcus Brownfield.
Brownfield was arrested last week on a Jackson County warrant for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery, obstruction of official duty and fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
The charges stem from a March 12th incident when a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy escaped injury during a vehicle pursuit that began in Atchison County.
Authorities allege that Brownfield maneuvered the vehicle that was being pursued in an attempt to strike the deputy who was on foot.
Brownfield remains in the Jackson County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
