(KAIR)--The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced a stretch of southbound U.S. 73/K-7 at Leavenworth County Road 18 will be closed to all traffic starting Monday at noon due to work starting on the second phase of pavement reconstruction on the road.
According to a release from KDOT, during this phase, pavement will be replaced from the intersection of Leavenworth County Road 14 to approximately 140 feet south of the intersection.
A marked detour will be provided. Traffic will be detoured via Lowemont Road and Amelia Earhart Drive. Remaining northbound and southbound traffic will continue to follow the established detour on Leavenworth County Road 14/Santa Fe Trail.
Traffic will be directed via cones and signage through the project work zone.
