(KLZA)-- The tick population seems to be high this year.
The Center for Disease Control says ticks are most often found in grassy or wooded areas in humid climates.
The CDC recommends avoiding tick bites by wearing bug sprays with DEET outdoors, as well as showering and checking for ticks after being in wooded areas.
