(KMZA)--A vacancy still remains on the Seneca City Council.
City Administrator Matt Rehder informed the Council Wednesday evening that no new applications had been received for the open Ward 3 Council position.
That came the lone applicant, Jim Schmitz, withdrew his application at the Council’s June 3rd meeting.
Rehder says the city will continue to seek applications. He said an application form is available at City Hall or on line at the city’s web site.
The 3rd Ward includes the area south of Main Street in Seneca.
Jim Ronnebaum won the Council seat on write-in votes during the April 7th general election, but turned down the position. It was previously held by Galen Niehues, who didn’t seek another term.
