(KAIR)--The Atchison City Commission received good news Monday when they were presented with the results of an audit conducted on the city's 2014 financial statements.
City Finance Director Becky Anderson says the audit did not show any negative items for 2014 and “it came back as an unmodified opinion, which means they are not modifying any of our statements...so basically you are getting a clean bill of health on your financial statements. A modified opinion would be if we had any missed statements in our financial statements or had recorded things incorrectly, that would show up in a modified opinion.”
Anderson says the independent audit is done each year, as required by state law.
