(KAIR)--Two Atchison juveniles are in custody after allegedly causing damage to property in several downtown Atchison locations over the weekend.
Police Chief Mike Wilson says police first investigated damage to railroad property on River Road Saturday afternoon, and then again on Sunday morning when there was damage done at various spots in the downtown area which included the 600 and 700 blocks of the mall, as well as the 700 block of Commercial.
Wilson says that the 15-year-old and the 13-year-old male juveniles were arrested Sunday and transported to a juvenile detention facility, where each faces a charge of criminal damage to property. The 15-year-old is also facing an additional charge of criminal threat after allegedly threatening bodily harm to an intake worker at the facility.
Wilson says the property damage includes broken windows, broken flower pots and flag poles, and roofing material thrown from a roof onto the ground.
The estimated cost of the damage is approximately $1,200.
