(KNZA)--One person was arrested, another remains at large, following a motorcycle pursuit in Brown County Sunday evening.
Sheriff John Merchant says a deputy noticed a motorcycle speeding on U.S. 75 Highway at about 7:30 while on routine patrol and a short chase ensued.
The motorcycle pulled into a residence in the southern part of the county where the male driver and female passenger fled on foot.
Merchant says the female passenger, 23-year-old Topeka resident Kaley Lindsberg, was arrested on a charge of obstruction. He said the driver, whose name is being withheld due to an ongoing investigation, was not located and is believed to be in the Topeka area.
Merchant says officers searched for the male driver until after midnight and patrolled the area throughout the night. He says the suspect posed no threat to local residents.
Merchant said more information will be released as the investigation continues.
