(KNZA)--A Boil Water Advisory has been issued for the City of Ozawkie.
According to a notice posted on the City's website, the advisory became effective at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.
It was issued due to the city's water system experiencing turbidity in the water, possibly due to lake water entering the city's wells.
Ozawkie water customers are urged to boil water for one minute prior to drinking, or ingesting, dispose of ice cubes, and disinfect dishes.
Those precautions should be observed until further notice.
The notice states that the city is taking action to increase the chlorination level in an attempt to produce a safe water, but it's unknown if that process will be adequate.
