Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest
06/01/2015

(KNZA)--An investigation by the Hiawatha Police Department led to the execution of two search warrants over the weekend and the arrest of a Hiawatha man on drug charges.

Police Chief John Defore says officers served a search warrant Friday evening on a residence at 107 Utah Street where marijuana and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located.  27-year-old Robert Neubauer was arrested on misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Defore says other charges are possible following further investigation.

He says a second search warrant was served Saturday afternoon on a residence at 400 Mohave Avenue where methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were allegedly located.

Defore says the investigation is continuing and the police department will be working with the Brown County Attorney to secure an arrest warrant for the suspect who wasn’t home at the time of the execution of the search warrant.

Defore credited the work of Investigator Mickey Gruber in both cases.
