(KMZA)--A member of the Sabetha FFA Chapter is among 18 candidates seeking a state officer position, which would represent more than 8,800 Kansas FFA members for the 2015-2016 term.
Sarah Plum, a four-year FFA member, will complete interviews, tests and public speaking demonstrations as part of the 87th Kansas FFA State Convention happening on the campus of Kansas State University this week.
A press release issued by the Kansas FFA Association calls the competition process “intense.”
On Friday, following an evaluation of the candidates, including one-on-one interviews, an appointed nominating committee will narrow the field to ten candidates.
Those candidates will then deliver a final prepared speech, and six will be elected to serve as the 2015-2016 state officer team.
The new members will be announced and installed at the final session of the convention on Friday.
Plum is the daughter of Mike and Sharon Plum. Her advisor is Chris Bauerle.
