(KAIR)--An attorney has been appointed to represent an Atchison woman accused of welfare fraud.
53-year-old Brenda Castillo-Dominguez appeared in Atchison County District Court where her application for a court appointed attorney was approved and Rex Lane was assigned to her case.
Castillo-Dominguez was also ordered to pay the $100 application fee by Friday, or her bond would be revoked.
A new hearing date was set for June 1st.
Castillo-Dominguez was arrested earlier this month after it was discovered that she had received approximatly $20,500 in benefits from the state of Kansas that she was not entitled to during a nearly four year period.
