Tecumseh State Prison
(KLZA)-- According to Prison officials with the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution the prison located north of Tecumseh is in lockdown.
According to a short release Sunday evening, about 2:30 Sunday afternoon staff at the prison noticed some inmates had gathered. Corrections officers went to check out the situation and were assaulted by inmates. Two employees were treated and at least one inmate was injured and treated.
At least two fires have been reported. One in the yard and one in a housing unit. Local fire crews responded to put out the fires.
A crisis negotiations team, a special operations response team and an emergency response team all responded to the situation.
The exterior of the prison is secure and teams prison officials are working to restore order in a housing unit.
