(KNZA)--The preliminary hearings for two men charged in connection with an alleged home invasion on the Kickapoo Reservation have been continued to later this month.
The hearings for 35-year-old former Kickapoo Tribal Council member Westley "Sag-Tuk” Banks and 21-year-old Andrew Darnell had been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. However, each have hired their own personal attorneys who asked for continuances. The request was granted, and their preliminary hearings were rescheduled for May 27th.
Banks, who resigned from the Tribal Council following his arrest, is charged with four felonies--including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and criminal threat. He's also charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property. Banks remains in the Brown County Jail, held on a $500,000 bond.
Darnell is charged with aggravated robbery and criminal threat. He remains in the Brown County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Meanwhile, authorities are still searching for a third man in connection with the April 24th incident. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 32-year-old Tyler “ Tiger” Banks, who is considered armed and dangerous, is urged to contact the Kickapoo Tribal Police Department at ( 785) 486-3665.
