(KMZA)--The Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education has hired a new K-12 principal for the Axtell school.
Superintendent Todd Evans says the board during a special meeting Tuesday evening approved a contract with Duane Ford.
Ford is no stranger to the area, previously teaching science at the Wetmore school. He’s currently with Uniontown USD 235 in Bourbon County where he performs administrative duties and teaches science.
Ford will replace Lucas Dalinghaus whose been hired as the new K-12 principal at Johnson-Brock school in southeast Nebraska.
Evans said Ford’s wife, Amanda, will be the new science teacher at Axtell. The couple has four children.
The Board also approved the hiring of Cole Bergren as the new Sabetha High School Industrial Technology teacher.
Resignations were accepted from Axtell physical education teacher Kevin Turowski and Axtell Junior High teacher Heidi Holthaus.
