(KNZA)--Three have been charged in the stabbing death of a 28-year-old St. Joseph, Missouri man whose body was found over the weekend in a river.
KQ2-TV reports Buchanan County Prosecutor Dwight Scroggins Monday charged 24-year-old St. Joseph resident Sean Liechti, 43-year-old Elwood, Kansas resident Kelli Hoard and 22-year-old Primalton Peterson III, of St. Joseph, with second-degree murder in the death of Richard Berry.
The three were arrested Sunday night following the search of a home in Elwood, with investigators saying evidence was seized related to the murder.
Authorities say Berry was stabbed multiple times Saturday and his body was thrown over the side of a bridge railing into the Third Fork Platte River near Easton, Missouri.
Berry’s body was found in the river late Saturday night by a passerby.
