(KNZA)--A former Jackson County fire chief has pleaded guilty to theft and agreed to pay restitution.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 45-year-old Ryan White entered the plea Monday to one count of felony theft, canceling a jury trial that was scheduled for this week.
White, who was the former fire chief of Soldier, had been charged with two felony counts of theft and five counts of misdemeanor theft.
He was accused of stealing around 39-hundred dollars while serving as treasurer of the Soldier Ball Association from August 2012 through May 2014.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s office began an investigation after discrepancies were found in the association’s accounting.
