Continuance Granted In Jefferson Co Child Sex Case

(KAIR)--A continuance has been granted in the case of a Perry man accused of sex crimes against a child.

Jeremy Butler appeared for an arraignment hearing in Jefferson County District Court Thursday where the judge set a new hearing date for May 7th.

Butler has been formally charged with one count of rape and two counts of indecent liberties with a child. He was arrested last month after an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Butler remains in the Jefferson County Jail, held on a $500,000 bond.
