(KLZA)-- Nebraska has the lowest unemployment rate in the nation. Governor Pete Ricketts announced Friday the preliminary unemployment rate for February is the best in the country at just 2.7 percent. North Dakota is now ranked second at 2.9 percent.
Ricketts called it great news for the state.
South Dakota and Utah are third at 3.4 percent unemployment and Minnesota is fifth at 3.7.
Iowa and Hawaii are tied for 11th at 4.1 percent. Kansas is tied for 13th with Colorado at 4.2 percent and Missouri is tied with Arkansas and Maryland for 26th in unemployment at 5.5 percent.
