(KLZA)-- 70-year old Clyde Winstead of Rock Port, Missouri suffered what were described as moderate injuries shortly before 1 p-m Friday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash. The wreck occurred on Interstate 29 approximately five miles south of Mound City.
Winstead was northbound on I-29 when his Mercury Milan went off the east side of the road, hit a field pose, then struck an embankment and came back toward the roadway and struck the backside of the guardrails and overturned, ending up on its top.
Winstead was transported by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Squad to Community Hospital in Fairfax. His vehicle was totaled.
The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated the wreck. Also responding to the scene was the Holt County Sheriff’s Department, Mound City Police Department, and Mound City Rural Fire Department.
