(MSC News)--Public meetings are being planned to gain input regarding the future of regional water supplies.
That follows a recent meeting of the fourteen Regional Goal Leadership Teams tasked with oversight of the issue for the state of Kansas.
Each team, starting this month, will help oversee public meetings intended to develop and draft future water supply goals for each region.
Locally, that includes two meetings on Thursday, March 12th, with the first set for that afternoon at 2:00 at the Heritage Center in Leavenworth. The second is scheduled for that evening in Hiawatha, with the session planned to begin at 7:00 at the Hiawatha Middle School.
Facilitators from both K-State Research and Extension and the Institute for Civic Discourse and Democracy will help to facilitate the meetings while assisting with goal development.
