ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP/MSC NEWS) – An Atchison man has been charged in the beating death of a St. Joseph man whose body was found below a cliff.
The St. Joseph News-Press reports that Buchanan County prosecutors on Monday charged 50-year-old Timothy Osborne with voluntary manslaughter in the April 2014 death of 57-year-old William Howard Paige Jr.
St. Joseph police say the investigation shows that Paige was killed during a dispute.
Court records say an autopsy found that Paige died of blunt force trauma to the head.
According to Atchison County Sheriff Jack Laurie, Osborne was arrested at his place of employment Monday without incident, and transported to the Atchison County Jail. He waived extradition to Buchanan County, and is currently being held in the Buchanan County Jail on $75,000 bond. He’s scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
