(KLZA)-- Two teenagers were hospitalized following a wreck Saturday morning in Atchison County, Missouri.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, 14-year old Tawni Martin of Westboro, Missouri was driving a car south on Route D approximately two miles south of Watson, Missouri. The car went off the west side of the road, the driver overcorrected and lost control with the car overturning and coming to rest on its top.
Tawni Martin was not wearing a safety restraint and was ejected from the vehicle and came to rest under the vehicle. Her injuries were described as serious. A passenger in the car, 16-year old Hannah Boeser of Farragut, Iowa was wearing a safety restraint and suffered minor injuries.
Both teenagers were transported to Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa by the Atchison-Holt Ambulance Squad.
In addition to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, Rock Port Fire Department and Atchison-Holt Ambulance Squad all responded to the call.
