(KAIR)--A power outage Friday night affected nearly 700 Westar customers in Atchison.
Power was initially lost just after 8:00, and had been restored to all but approximately 240 customers by midnight.
According to a representative from Westar, the outage is being blamed on a broken utility pole that briefly caught fire. Adverse weather conditions possibly contributed to the malfunction.
Power was completely restored just after 1:20 Saturday morning.
