(KAIR)--Formal charges have been filed against an Atchison man after a police investigation into the suspected sexual abuse of a four-year-old child in Atchison.
Chief Mike Wilson says the investigation was initiated in early December of last year after the victim was examined at a medical facility,and focused on a suspect who is in custody in Buchanan County, facing child pornography related charges.
Atchison County Attorney Jerry Kuckelman filed a formal charge of aggravated sodomy against 32-year-old Austin Kau on Tuesday, and he will be transferred to Atchison as soon as his case in Buchanan County is concluded.
