(KNZA)--A February 26th preliminary hearing has been set for rural Netawaka man facing multiple sex-related offenses involving a minor child.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says 35-year-old Scott Buchheit made his first appearance in a Jackson County courtroom Friday on 16 counts--including five counts of rape. Miller says attorney Russ Roe, of Onaga, was appointed to represent Buchheit.
He was arrested last Tuesday night after turning himself into Topeka Police after the Jackson County Sheriff’s office issued an alert for the public's help in locating him.
Buchheit remains in the Jackson County Jail, held on $300,000 bond.
