(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City, City Council conducted the annual public hearing on the 1 & 6 Year Street Plan when they met Monday evening. Jim Schultis discussed the gravel road leading to his home which will be reviewed.
The plan was approved with no changes from last years plan. City Clerk Tammy Stephens says money is not available to make any upgrades to the streets.
Pawnee County Sheriff Jayme Reed discussed animal control. She will be sending out reminders to residents reminding them it is time to license dogs. If not done by March, citations for unlicensed dogs will be issued.
The presentation on the fiscal year 2013-14 audit has been delayed until the February 23rd Council meeting due to illness.
Changes to Department of Economic Development Reuse / Regional Reuse Funds were discussed. Because of rule changes, the Regional re-use money that has been utilized in both Pawnee and Richardson County will now have to be paid back to the original funding community, which is Pawnee City. Pawnee City will be able to use the funds, but likely only to manufacturing instead of retail businesses.
Pawnee City has submitted a letter concerning the new recommendations from Housing and Urban Development. Once the outstanding loans are paid back, Pawnee City will have in excess of $760,000 in re-use money, all of which will be required to be used in Pawnee City.
Loans had been utilized by businesses in Stella, Table Rock and DuBois in the past.
