(KNZA)--Dr. Penny Hargrove will remain as superintendent of the Hiawatha school district.
Hargrove was among five finalists interviewed last month to be the new superintendent of the Auburn-Washburn school district.
However, the Auburn-Washburn USD 437 Board of Education Monday evening approved the appointment of Dr. Scott McWilliams to the position.
McWilliams, who is currently Executive Director of Human Resources for the Blue Valley school district, will replace longtime superintendent Dr. Brenda Dietrich. Dietrich is retiring effective July 1st.
