(KLZA)-- Terry Borcher has been elected President of the Pawnee City School Board for 2015 and Rob Voigtlander was elected Vice President. Lisa Hunzeker will serve as Secretary and Anna Ferguson will be the Treasurer for 2015.
The annual reorganization of the Board took place last week following the Oath of Office given to Borcher, Ferguson, Hunzeker and Rottinghaus.
The Board did approve the 2015-16 certified negotiated agreement with the Pawnee City Education Association. The agreement calls for a $700 increase to the base salary. The starting salary for a new teacher in the Pawnee City School District will be $33,375. The Board also voted to recognize the Pawnee City Education Association as the negotiations team for the certified teachers for the 2016-17 contract year.
A motion was approved to go with Alicap as the districts property and liability insurance provider for 2015. Their bid was approximately $13,000 lower than the bid of around $47,000 from ENC who previously provide the coverage.
The Board also approved a contract with Hart Floors for summer maintenance to the gymnasium floor at a cost of $3,800. Approval was also given to the sale of the old marching bass drum, snare drum, quad drums, two metal snare drums, chimes and timpani for $1,300. The sale of an old table saw and band saw was also approved.
