(KMZA)--With the deadline nearing, there have been several additional filings for school board and city positions up for election in April in Nemaha County.
Jamie Guerrero is the latest candidate to file for the member at-large position on the Nemaha Central USD 115 Board of Education. Guerrero joins Doug Metzger and incumbent Owen Zinke in seeking the position. If a fourth candidate files it will force a primary election. Four positions are up for election on the board.
Four candidates have filed so far for three of the four open positions on the Prairie Hills USD 113 Board. Tammy Hinton is seeking position 1, currently held by Tim Aberle, Kathy Lippert has filed for position 3, currently held by Cheryl Wenger. Wenger is no longer eligible for the position. Michael Bachelor and Kent Saylor are both seeking position 7, member at-large, currently held by Julia Alfers. No candidates have filed so far for position 5, currently held by Brent Lortscher.
Four candidates have filed so far for three open seats on the Sabetha City Commission. They include the three incumbents—Nick Aberle, Julie Burenheide and Rick Koch. Kenny Miller has filed to challenge Koch as Commissioner of Utilities.
