(KNZA)--The first candidate has filed for one of four seats up for election in April on the Hiawatha USD 415 Board of Education.
Ian Schuetz filed Tuesday to retain position three on the board.
Schuetz was appointed to the board in of March 2013 to fill the unexpired term of Becky Shamburg, who resigned to take the position of director of Brown County Special Education Interlocal 615.
The seats currently held by Dave Thompson, Steve Lock and Matt Sprick are also up for election on the USD 415 Board. The three have announced they don't plan to seek re-election.
Candidates have until noon on Tuesday, January 27th to file at the Brown County Clerk's office. The general election is April 7th.
