(KMZA)--A Marysville man was arrested Friday after crashing his car through two businesses in Manhattan and driving away.
According to a news release from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office, 36-year-old Jason Lee Butler was taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident. The sheriff’s office says his vehicle allegedly crashed through Short Go and Staples in the 600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard shortly before 7 Friday morning before fleeing the scene. Deputies responding to the scene discovered that a vehicle had driven through the exterior wall of the building leading into the back of the Short Go business, through the business, and then damaged the interior wall to the Staples business. The vehicle was then able to exit the building. Butler was arrested a short time later after his 1996 Buick Century was located one block from the accident scene.
Butler, who suffered minor injuries, was booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.
