(KAIR)--Finalization on an upgrade to Atchison County's joint communications system has been put on hold for another week.
During a meeting of the County Commission Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Jack Laurie, and County Emergency Management Director Wes Lanter presented Commissioners with interlocal agreements from all but one city in the county, stating that they will not drop their funding for the upgrades. Huron was the only city that had not signed an agreement yet, but they are planning to meet Monday to discuss the issue.
Commissioner Mike Bodenhausen stated that he would not sign any contract until he was sure everything was completely in order and all three commissioners were present to vote. Commissioner Bill Pohl was not present due to medical issues.
The Commission agreed to revisit the matter during their meeting next Tuesday. The County is facing a December 31st deadline to sign the contract, since the special pricing deal on the equipment will expire at that time.
