(KLZA)-- The Pawnee City Council last week approved a resolution ordering a property at 1138 G Street to be razed by the property owners within 30 days.
The estimate to raze the property is $3,310 if there is no asbestos found. The property owners now have 30 days to tear down the dilapidated house or else the City will proceed with the demolition process.
Pawnee County Sheriff Jayme Reed also met with the Council to discuss a number of issues including dogs barking at night and the continued illegal dumping at the tree disposal site. A camera has been put up at the tree dump. Violators will be ticketed and prosecuted. Mayor Deb Klein said if the illegal dumping continues the tree disposal site will be gated.
The project to sand blast and paint the inside of the Pawnee City water tower is underway currently.
The Council also approved conducting a safety evaluation meeting on Wednesday evening, December 17th at the Pawnee City Library meeting room. It is mandatory for all city employees to attend. The League of Risk Management, with whom Pawnee City now has the City insurance will conduct the meeting and safety training.
It was also noted that water well number three can be put back in service to help with the Pawnee City water supply.
