(KNZA)--Two people suffered disabling injuries in a motorcycle crash in Leavenworth County Sunday evening.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says it happened near the intersection of Parallel Parkway and 139th Road shortly after 8:30.
The Patrol says 58-year-old Steven Lee, of Leavenworth, was westbound on Parallel when he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle for an unknown reason and came to rest in the north ditch.
Lee and a passenger, 51-year-old Shawnee resident Melinda Keeney, were both transported to the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.
The Patrol says both were wearing eye protection only and no helmet.
