Four positions will be up for election in April on the Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education.
They include position 1, currently held by Tim Aberle; position 3, currently held by Cheryl Wenger; position 5, currently held by Brent Lortscher; and position 7, member at large, currently held by Julia Alfers.
The new positions will begin on July 1st of next year. The terms are for four years.
School board members must be registered voters in the USD 113 school district and can't be an employee of the school district.
Candidates have until noon on Tuesday, January 27th to file at the Nemaha County Clerk's office by paying a $5 filing fee or submitting a petition containing fifty names of qualified votes from the candidate's position.
School board elections will be held April 7th. A primary election must be conducted if more than three people file for the same school board position. It would be held March 3rd.
