(KLZA)-- The Johnson-Brock Board of Education conducted their November meeting last week. During the meeting Sonda Westenburg requested a hearing before the Board of Education regarding her recent relief of coaching duties at Johnson-Brock. No action was taken on the reqest.
The Building Committee advised the Board that things are just about to wrap up on the building addition. There are a few items still needing attention and an addition of some emergency lighting and the project will be completed. Board members complimented the building process and how smooth everything has gone.
Superintendent Jeff Koehler, Mary Findeis and Irene Seeba represented Johnson-Brock in Washington D.C. for the National Blue Ribbon Award Ceremony. When they returned a celebration was held in the school gymnasium.
Superintendent Koehler informed the Board that negotiations with the Johnson-Brock Education Association are underway.
Jelayne Clark addressed the Board members in regards to issues with Power School. An issue with absences on report cards was discussed. That has been cleared up She also expressed displeasure about the current lunch balance notification within Power School. Clark also asked the board to discuss hiring a second Science Teacher for Junior High.
The Board approved the installation of four air circulating fans in the new gymnasium.
The Board also met in executive session for over an hour to protect the public interest and prevent needless injury to the reputation of an individual.
