(KLZA)-- The Richardson County Farm Service Agency and the University of Nebraska Extension are hosting a Farm Bill meeting on Tuesday, November 18, beginning at 9 a-m at the Richardson County Fairgrounds in Humboldt. The meeting is free and open to the public.
A free meal is being provided to all attendees who register by Friday, November 14, by calling the FSA office at 402-245-2401. The meal is sponsored by F&M Bank, Table Rock State Bank, American National Bank, and Richardson County Bank and Trust.
Meeting attendees will learn about Farm Service Agency (FSA) Farm Bill programs including Price Loss Coverage (PLC), Agricultural Risk Coverage - County (ARC-CO), Agricultural Risk Coverage - Individual (ARC-IC), and highlights of other available programs and eligibility requirements.
Shawna Mitchell, FSA County Executive Director, will provide program information and answer any questions on ARC and PLC policy and procedure. Monte Vandeveer, UNL Extension Educator, will demonstrate the online decision-making tools that are available to producers to help make important enrollment decisions regarding the Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs.
Learning more about ARC and PLC is extremely important for producers who must make a one-time decision about base and yield updates as well as ARC or PLC election and enrollment decisions.
Producers should contact the FSA office at 402-245-2401 to set up an appointment to do their base and yield updates and program election at their earliest convenience.
