MARYVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A long-range development plan for Mozingo Lake Park near Maryville includes suggestions to lure visitors with a lodge or hotel, a full-service restaurant and a visitors' center.
The 3,000-acre park east of Maryville includes a 1,000-acre reservoir. Maryville city staff presented a master plan for the park to the Maryville City Council earlier this week, replacing a plan that was drafted shortly after the lake was built in 1995.
A developer for the plan has not been recruited. The Maryville Daily Forum reports other amenities suggested in the plan are a conference center, a golf clubhouse, a gift shop and rental gear for outdoor recreation.
The planners also suggest conservation efforts, including returning all lands used for hay by neighboring farmers into habitat supporting native flora.
