(KNZA)--A local school psychologist has been honored.
Lisa Pierce, school psychologist for Brown County Special Education Interlocal #615 has been named the “ Kansas School Psychologist of the year.”
Pierce received the award during the recent Kansas Association of School Psychologists fall convention.
The award serves to honor those rare individuals in the field who possess the professional commitment, compassion, knowledge and ability to rightly earn the confidence of a community—all of which are required to be highly effective in the field.
Pierce has been a school psychologist for the past 15 years—8 years with the Marshall-Nemaha Special Ed Co-op and the past 7 years with the Brown County Special Education Interlocal. She also worked five years a clinical psychologist with the Hiawatha-based Kanza Mental Health and Guidance Center.
